You go for it everyday. Wake up motivated, start your day with gratitude, go to the gym and you eat your best breakfast. The entire day is set up for success. You’re ready for anything the day has for you because you’ve got in front of the day!

As the day progresses your first task is daunting and starts to eat away your ease. A co-worker comes in and takes your mind to the news. Now your mind is starting to wander, the power you built into your morning is starting to wane. Your ease is diminishing and you can feel the tension in your jaw, your lower back begins to tighten, you push your tongue on the roof of your mouth. You take a deep breath in. Exhale, relief. That brief moment of ease, drifts away as fast as it came. Now what?
Anchor yourself. Anchor that exhale in a thought.

Find something that makes you feel good.

Imagine something that you want to do, or think of an accomplishment you’ve already achieved. Soak in that fulfillment one more time. Notice how the ease begins to fill up your body again. This is your anchor thought.
Over the next few days your anchor thought is your new best friend.

Every time your mind starts to wander, your focus changes, or your enthusiasm begins to wane, go back to your anchor thought.

Imagine it. Feel It. Re-live it.

How does this make you feel? Empowered? I hope so!

Let me know if creating or imaging an anchor thought works for you.
