Day 2 in Gaziantep was for wandering the Coppersmiths Bazaar (Bakircilar Carsisi) and the surrounding area. We started out at a carving workshop where I was able to learn about the patterns and techniques for carving copper. I even had a chance to do my own carving! It wasn’t too hard but of course mastery takes time, and my lines weren’t straight lol.
How will they cover that up!
The bazaar is full of all types of magical treasures and characters selling them. One must not take the novelty of these exotic copper pieces away when seen with so many other pieces. At home on your table in your room or on your mantle provide and gorgeous memory of lands and dreams far away. Imagine when those patterns were developed !
Built over 400 years ago the coppersmiths bazaar is a unique take on days historical when instead of motorbikes rolling through, camels and donkeys were sashayed through the market with various goods for trade from the silk roads.
