Everyday we must be vigilant with on thoughts and inner conversation to direct our energies towards positive self talk.
Positive self-image is started within, and our daily conversations with ourselves is the holy grail of self belief, encouragement and motivation.
We all have bad days, months, and years before getting to this knowledge and we don’t necessarily even have negative self talk. Yet it’s not positive either. Its more like allowing your mind to wander and create stories about things going on in your life. Oh, this person cut me off in traffic, ‘ they must be,’ if my family wasn’t so dysfunctional, ‘then i would,’ if I only had better looks,’ then I would…’
These stories escalate into full on soap operas and situations that will never bring anything good into our lives. It’s the rat race of your mind daydreaming and allowing the mind to take control and run and evaluate all sorts of fantasy.
This is the exact way many of us never control the game because we’re not fortifying our mind, taking control and using templates for positive self talk.
I did not grow up with any system of redirecting my thoughts toward a goal of positive self talk. I could talk about it all day, yet it took many years after reading, The Power of Positive Thinking and The Power of Your Subconscious Mind to understand that it was the everyday daydreaming and wandering mind that had to be controlled. This is in turn would lead towards positive self talk but there was another step.
Affirmations, positive sentences, aspirational wording must be used everyday to fill in the empty space left after one has controlled the daydreams. Not only everyday, but multiple times a day.
I suggest you take a few sentences that uplift your spirit, write and repeat them multiple time a day for a few weeks until you begin to notice your mind naturally drawing from these sentences when you are daydreaming.
Sentences like, ‘I am dedicated to my work. I love the exciting things in my path. I am healthy, fit, trim, toned and energetic. I am rich beyond my wildest dreams with financial freedom. I cant wait to travel to… I am planning it now. I am so thankful for my family, friends, coworkers, customers, suppliers, vendors, they are all such treasures to me.’
Sometimes, one has to go very basic in the western world just to get started, ‘ I love the safety of my home. I love how comfortable my bed sheets are. I am so thankful for the leaves on the trees which provide oxygen. I am so thankful for the abundance that I see everywhere including streets signs, the roadways, the buildings, these are all signs of abundance! I love my clothes, I love that I can choose the food I eat.’
Maybe this sounds cheesy to you and that is fine, its new. However, I promise that as you continue and find the right words for yourself in your own personal journey your state will change. Endorphins will rush and inspiration will create momentum within you.
You will find that your mind retreats to these positive statements which leads to an overall sense of wellbeing.
